MARCILEE MORGAN HAS A PERFORMANCE AND PIANO TEACHING BACKGROUND. SHE STARTED PLAYING THE PIANO AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 3 YEARS OLD. SHE GREW UP IN HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, ARKANSAS WHERE SHE BEGAN PERFORMING ON STAGE AT HER FAMILY’S MUSIC AND VARIETY SHOW, “THE BATH HOUSE SHOW” (1988-2008). THE WILKINS FAMILY MUSIC SHOW FEATURED MUSIC FROM THE 1930S THROUGH TODAY AND PROVIDED FAMILY FUN ENTERTAINMENT TO MORE THAN 2,000,000 PATRONS WORLDWIDE. MARCILEE MOVED TO NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE IN 2009 TO PURSUE HER CAREER IN MUSIC AND HAS HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING, TOURING WITH MANY TALENTED NASHVILLE BASED ARTISTS. IN 2011, SHE GRADUATED WITH A MASTERS OF MUSIC IN CLASSICAL PIANO PERFORMANCE FROM BELMONT UNIVERSITY, NASHVILLE, TN. SHE CONTINUES TO DEVELOP HER REPUTATION AS A PERFORMER, INSTRUCTOR, ACCOMPANIST, SINGER/SONGWRITER, AND SESSION PLAYER. MARCILEE WAS AWARDED TOP MUSIC TEACHER BY STEINWAY PIANO GALLERY OF NASHVILLE IN 2020 AND 2021. SHE SERVED AS PRESIDENT OF THE NASHVILLE ASSOCIATION PIANO GUILD TEACHERS (NAPGT) IN 2022-2023. SHE IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF MUSICIANS, MTNA/NAMTA, AND NAPGT. 

Hello! I’m Brook. I love teaching, singing, and theater.  I currently live in Nashville, TN and I love teaching private voice lessons. My career began by teaching Middle and High School choir for 3 years before moving to Nashville to pursue my Masters of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Belmont University. Prior to my Master’s degree I studied Music Education at The University of Mobile.

I decided to pursue my Master’s degree in Voice Studies because I wanted to not only be “able” to sing, but I wanted to know “how” to sing! This journey took me on a crazy adventure into the theory of how the voice works using body, mind, and spirit — and absolutely brings out my nerdy side! Because of my love for voice function I am able to offer healthy function and technique to my students!

My learning doesn’t stop with my degrees though. I also believe it’s important to be a lifelong learner and pursue professional education. I continue to do professional development and I am currently a member of the Pan American Vocal Association (PAVA) as well as the Nashville Vocal Pedagogy Colloquium (NVPC).

Some fun facts about me are that I love old movies, 90’s rock, and reading.  One of my favorite pastimes is enjoying a nice cup of tea or coffee with loved ones as well as taking long strolls through town. I love to travel and explore new places and also enjoy documenting life and adventures through photography. All of these things continue to inspire my teaching story!

I have been teaching private Composition, Voice, Piano lessons since August of 2015, and it has been a daily joy to share my love for music with others.  In addition to teaching music lessons in my studio, I serve as the Music Theory Chair for Florida State through MTNA and also the Student Day Chair for Central Florida through MTNA. I received my Bachelor of Music degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in Music Theory and Composition with a focus in Classical Voice and piano.  I had several enjoyable lead roles over the years ranging from Mozart's "Queen of the Night" to Offenbach's "Doll". Through my time in college, I competed in several NATS Regional and State competitions and won at 5 events in my category. I also received an Honorable Mention in the MET Young Artist Regional Competition in 2007. 

I teach in a Socratic method, pushing each student to think through a problem and learn how to answer questions for himself. I am not as concerned with the student's speed of progression through a song as much as with his mastering each song. I help to develop and encourage student's stage performance with multiple recital opportunities each year in my studio, county recitals and Student Day. While I offer private Composition lessons, composition assignments are also given to each Voice and Piano student in my studio as a means to reinforce music theory concepts and allow all my students the opportunity to be creative and enjoy music on a more personal level.

My goal for every student is that they enjoy a lifelong passion in learning music and utilize persistence, self-evaluation, commitment to perfecting, and analyzing techniques in all other areas of life.  I am sharing my musical passion, knowledge, and skills with others. I have extensive training in Music Composition, Music Theory, Vocal and Piano Performance. I offer private Composition, Music Theory, Voice and Piano lessons both in my studio and virtually.
